The Sendoff

I really need to start from the beginning of this whole adventure thing. It certainly didn't begin when I got here (to France, that is). No, no it began long, long ago with the thought, and the action, and then the sacrifices. And then there was all the work and the hiccups.

And then there was the sendoff.

Coline left 16 days before the date on my ticket, so there I was, left alone in Seattle with not a lot to do. There was lots of coffee, lots of reading, and mmmmmmmusic. There were also, no people. Oh god, it was terrible. In fact, on a number of occasions I would go into complete shock from hearing a human being talk to me.

Thank god it didn't last long. There was this whole big family crisis lightning bolt thing on this one lonely night and then there was this girl who gave me a facebook hug to make me feel better and then things got better.

I'm rushing everything to get to the part where I can thank all of you. Thank you, all of you. You made such a perfect, lasting impression on me in just a couple weeks. My last days began with such bitterness, and ended in such a bittersweet goodbye. The things we did in the final days, the bridges that were built, the ones that were rebuilt, all the ones we tread on, have shown me so much about myself and what is important to me. It showed me that I am loved by the people I love. And if I give you my love then I will receive yours back. The perfect photo of a symbiotic relationship. It's what I live for and what makes me live.

I feel special to have all of you in my life. I feel blessed. And I hope you'll never doubt that I will always do what I can to keep you with me wherever I go.

And even now, halfway around the world, you are all with me in my thoughts and my actions; my intentions and purpose, my plans for the future.

Thanks.
Jon loves all of you.
